Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, we are faced with making some very difficult decisions. Although there are no known cases in our area counties at this time, we feel it necessary to follow the recommendations and procedures recently put in place by our Nation’s administrative leaders and health professionals. Limiting groups to fewer than 10, and schooling from home if and when possible, will hopefully lessen the burden on the healthcare field, and stop the spread. The health and wellness of our students and community is our primary concern.
As with many schools in our district, conference, and state, we will be closing at the end of the day (Tuesday, March 17th) through Friday, April 3rd. Classes will resume on April 6th. All games and after school activities are also canceled. State supervisors have stressed to me the importance of encouraging students to practice "social distancing" during this time off. Teachers have been working hard to prepare work for students to complete during this break. We know this will not replace the classroom, but we also know the importance of continuing the education process. Parents, PLEASE contact your teachers with questions, do not hesitate to ask for help. They are willing to provide feedback and are anticipating questions and correspondence.
We will be serving "to-go" meals to anyone in our community under the age of 18. We will be providing both breakfast and lunch during this time. You will be able to pick up meals on Mondays (Mon/Tues meals) and Wednesdays (Wed/Thur/Fri meals) from 11-12:30. In order to anticipate the number of meals needed we ask that you reply to the elementary Remind thread, (text: @56177 to the number 8101 with your child’s name(s) or call the elementary office (573-325-8101 ext. 2210) to let us know that you would like to participate. Knowing the number of anticipated meals will help us to serve everyone in need.
Our community is strong, we ask for patience and understanding during this unknown time.
