Tuesday's game against Alton was a heartbreaker for the Wildcats, as they lost the lead late in a 5-2 defeat. The game with tied at 2 with Alton batting in the top of the sixth when Seth Trantham singled on a 3-2 count, scoring one run.
Alton opened up scoring in the 1st inning. Ben Oesch drove in one when Oesch singled.
In the bottom of the 1st inning, Winona tied things up at 1 when Tanner Kalman singled on a 2-0 count, scoring one run.
Cainan Heck earned the win for Alton. The fireballer allowed 2 hits and 2 runs over 5 innings, striking out 10. Leyton Haddock threw 2 innings in relief out of the bullpen. Haddock recorded the last 6 outs to earn the save for Alton.
Jaden Thacker toed the rubber the the Wildcats. Thacker allowed 3 hits and 4 runs over 5 and a 1/3 innings striking out 7. Tyler Russell threw 1 & 2/3's innings in relief out of the bullpen. Kalman and Robert Kapp each managed one hit to lead the Wildcats. Oesch led Alton with 2 hits in 3 at bats. Alton was sure-handed and didn't commit a single error. Rylan Steele made the most plays with 13.
