Pulliam‘s walk off seals the deal in the wildcat victory over Bakersfield.

 

A walk off single lead Winona Wildcats passed Bakersfield 65 on Thursday, April 14th.  The game was tied at 5 with Winona batting in the bottom of the 7th inning when Zach Pulliam singled on a 1-0 count, scoring one run.  Bakersfield scored 5 runs in the 1st inning, but the Wildcats we’re still able to pull off the win.  The offensive onslaught by Bakersfield was led by R. Luna, Aj Hensley, and Jones, all sending runners across the plate with RBIs in the inning.  

Bakersfield fired up the offense in the 1st inning, when Luna singled on a 1-1 count, scoring 2 runs.

Winona Wildcats tied things up at 5 when Robert Kapp doubled on the first pitch of the at bat, scoring 1 run.

 

The Wildcats put up 3 runs in the 2nd inning.    Winona scored its runs on a home run by Carter Voyles.  McCade Dixon was the winning pitcher for Winona. He allowed 2 hits and 0 runs over 2 innings, walking 1.

 

Cotter took the loss for Bakersfield.  He lasted 2 & 2/3’s, allowing 3 hits and 1 run while striking out 6 and walking 0.

 

Blaine Cooper started the game for the Wildcats. The pitched lasted 5 innings, allowing 6 hits and 5 runs while striking out seven. Luna started of the game for Bakersfield. The Bulldog surrendered 5 runs on 8 hits over 4 innings, striking out 6.  

 

Winona tallied one home run of the day by Carter Voyles.  Overall, the Wildcats collected 11 hits. Cash Pasley, Zach Pulliam, Blaine Cooper & Robert Kapp all managed multiple hits for the Wildcats.  Kapp, Cooper, Pulliam & Pasley each managed 2 hits to lead the Wildcats. 

 

Bakersfield saw the ball well today, racking up 8 hits in the game. Luna, Jones, and Bean each had multiple hits for Bakersfield. Luna went 3 for 4 at the plate to lead Bakersfield in hits. Bakersfield didn’t commit a single error in the field. Hardin had 13 chances in the field, the most on the team.
